What they asked for. What we recommended instead.
Original brief
Stuart Heaton, founder of Career Friendly Programme, wanted to solve a simple but overlooked problem — young people don't know what career opportunities exist around the corner. Schools and local businesses were missing each other entirely, despite being in the same neighbourhoods. He needed a platform that could bridge that gap, fast, and handle thousands of users from day one.
Our recommendation
The original brief was a location-based map showing two types of pins — schools and businesses. We launched exactly that in 2 weeks. But from the first week of user feedback, it was clear the map was just the beginning. Rather than waiting for a redesign brief, we built each new feature as a direct response to a real user blocker — one at a time, shipped monthly. What started as a 2-week MVP is now a full community and operations platform.
